Cordino Chain: What It Is and Who It Suits

Gourmet Cordino Chain Necklace 925 Sterling Silver Diamond Cut — 60 cm

The cordino is a finely twisted cord, a tighter variation on the gourmet that glitters rather than gleams.

How it wears

Fine enough for layering, with more texture than a plain chain. A chain is worn against skin for hours at a time, so weight and flexibility matter more than the pattern alone: a chain that is beautiful but stiff ends up in a drawer.

Choosing a length

On a necklace, 40 cm sits at the base of the neck, 45 cm just below the collarbone and suits most necklines, and 50 cm falls on the chest and layers well with a shorter chain. On a bracelet, measure your wrist and add about 1.5 cm for comfort. Full size guide.

Our cordino pieces

Prices run from £60, depending on the metal and the gauge of the wire.

How we make and mark it

Every piece here is made for ONLYWAY JEWELRY in London and, where the law requires it, hallmarked at the London Assay Office. The hallmark is not decoration: it is an independent test of the metal, struck by an assay office rather than by the maker. What the marks mean.

The price on the page is the price you pay. Delivery within the United Kingdom is tracked and included, and you have thirty days to send a piece back. Delivery and returns.

Questions

Is a cordino chain strong?

Fine enough for layering, with more texture than a plain chain.

Can it take a pendant?

Yes, if the gauge suits the weight. For a heavy pendant choose a box or curb link of at least 1.5 mm; fine or highly twisted chains prefer a lighter pendant.

Can the length be changed?

In most cases yes. Write to us with the piece and the length you need and we will tell you what is possible before you buy.
